Announcing Creative Suite 5 (CS5)

From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML
I haven't been this excited about a software release in years. Dreamweaver CS5 has a bunch of new options in it that I've been waiting for forever. Plus, Flash goes XML, and even Photoshop has some really cool fill tools and morphing. Another thing that came out this past week is the Apple iPad, and with it another platform that doesn't support Flash video. But that doesn't mean that you can't have video on your site if you want to support the iPad (or iPhone). With HTML 5, video has finally gotten, well, not easy, but at least not so completely impossible. What Should I Write About? Announcing Creative Suite 5
Adobe CS5 Web PremiumI am very excited about this latest version of Adobe Creative Suite 5 - the changes to Dreamweaver are excellent and should make both beginners and advanced users happy. Plus, Flash now can save the fla files as an XML file structure that will make it easier for third party developers to create tools as well as designers and developers to work together on projects at the same time. I was lucky enough to get a product overview from the Adobe product managers for both Dreamweaver and Flash. And in both briefings, I was constantly exclaiming "oh! I've needed that for years!" I haven't had a chance to review the final products yet, but from the briefings I think that they have done an excellent job with this release.

Adding Video to Web Pages Doesn't Need to be Hard
I spent a lot of time researching and writing this article to help you get HTML 5 video working on your website. And while it might seem overwhelming to see 10 pages of tutorial to get it working, a lot of that time is spent creating your video and encoding it for the different browsers. The actual time spent writing HTML 5 is minimal. And I've tested the resulting page in browsers on Mac, Windows, Linux and even mobile phones. Plus, once you've got the files set up, you won't have to add them again, and you can spend more time editing your video masterpiece.

Poll: Do you provide your full content to RSS feeds?
RSS is an easy way for most bloggers to provide links and content from their site to feed readers and even other sites that want that content. But if you send your entire blog post to the RSS feed, you run the risk of being plagiarized by RSS scrapers who just want the content you write without doing any work themselves.
